Giro institutions

Giro institutions
A European term for clearing house. Broadly speaking it includes financial institutions, specialised in effecting domestic/inland payments, which are not subject to local government regulations pertaining to banking; however these institutions are generally established by law and are subject to non-banking local government supervision.
